Ellard’s loop detectors are designed to be buried in proximity to a gate, traffic barrier, or shutter (for example at a car park entrance).
Loop detectors allow discreet access control systems that let you hide the workings, avoiding the disruption of the aesthetic of your property. Vehicle detection loops can detect vehicles passing or arriving at a certain point, for instance approaching a traffic light or in motorway traffic
They detect the presence of a vehicle through electrical conductivity, and then using this input to signal the barrier, door, or gate to operate. Parking structures for automobiles may use inductive loops to track traffic (occupancy) in and out or may be used by access gates or ticketing systems to detect vehicles.
The sensitivity of loop detectors can also be adjusted to only open for large vehicles, or to exclude them, giving you control of what can come in to your property.
