Over the past 30 years, Marantec has become a well-known name around the world and is associated with the highest quality "made in Germany". In 1989 Michael Hörmann founded Marantec based out of an operator production facility that had previously belonged to the door and gate manufacturer Hörmann – and whose employees had been working and gaining experience in the field of operator technology since 1957. Since then, Marantec has been developing and producing innovative operators and control systems at their headquarters in East Westphalia, as well as accessory products for all types of Garage doors, Swing and Sliding gates, Industrial doors and gates, and Parking barriers –  for both the private and commercial sectors.
