An Ellard Star: Christina boxes to raise money for children with cerebral palsy.

Writer: EllardEllard

This is the Story of our very own Christina Lowe. Christina made the very brave decision to have her leg amputated just under a year ago. To be able to walk on her new prosthetic is a major achievement but to get in a ring and box is unbelievable. The whole crowd was behind her, especially the ones from Ellard.

"I participated in a White Collor Boxing event to raise money for children/young adults with cerebral palsy

This was something I always wanted to experience from a young age but due to my cerebral palsy and other complications, this wasn’t achievable at the time.

In December 2020 I had a procedure done and the aim for this was to have a better quality of life. As part of my rehabilitation, I decided I would take up the opportunity to do what I always wanted to do.

I trained for 16 weeks in total. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and this also had a really good impact physically and mentally.

On the 28th of November 2021 I stepped in that ring and fought, not only was the crowd out of this world (80%) Ellard but even strangers that I have never seen before were truly supporting my corner and it was extremely overwhelming. This was a proud moment for me considering I was the first amputee to ever do the White Collor Boxing Event and raised £750.00 for a great cause."

Everyone at Ellard is extremely proud of you Christina!"
