Build Your Perfect Garage Door Safety Edge

At Ellard, we know that safety is just as important as performance. Our range of garage door safety edges is designed to protect people, vehicles, and property, while keeping installations simple and professional.

Whether you’re fitting a new door or upgrading an existing system, our modular Safety Edge system makes it easy to build the setup that works best for you.

Step 1: Choose Your Safety Edge Type

Start with your preferred setup — wired or wireless

  • Wired safety edges are reliable, affordable, and ideal for straightforward installations.

  • Wireless safety edges offer a cleaner, cable-free look, eliminating obstructions between the control panel and door bottom. They’re fully compatible with our Simple Panel and TVNRG Panels, making setup quick and flexible.

Step 2: Pick Your Connection Option

Next, choose how your safety edge connects:

  • Curly Cable & Junction Box – For the wired option, the curly cable and junction box offer a durable solution with easy maintenance.

  • Bottom Slat Transmitter – a sleek wireless option that removes the need for coiled cables.

  • Bottom Slat Transmitter with Alarm – adds an extra safeguard, alerting users if the connection is broken or the edge is damaged.

Step 3: Select the Safety Edge Technology

Choose between Resistive or Optical technology:

  • Resistive Safety Edge – a tough rubber profile with a built-in ribbon switch. When the edge is pressed, the circuit closes, stopping the door immediately.

  • Optical Safety Edge – uses an internal infrared beam; if the beam is broken, it signals the door to stop and reopen. Fast, precise, and reliable.

Step 4: Choose the Rubber Profile
