With decades of combined experience, they are the backbone of customer support and product development. Let’s introduce you to the people behind the support.
Bart Nowak – Technical Manager

Bart’s journey at Ellard began 19 years ago as an apprentice at Ellard, wiring flange motors. Since then, he has grown into a leader of both the Technical Team and the Production Department. His career is a testament to Ellard’s focus on growth and progression.
Specialities: Managing technical and overseeing production, customer support, and product development.
Favourite product: FT160 – “It’s 100% rated, durable, reliable, and simple to set with digital limits.”
Most interesting project: Designing custom-built control panels, including large-scale panels with PLC controls.
Favourite success story: Progressing from apprentice to management—learning the products inside out and developing into his current role.
Mark Grice – Senior Technical Engineer

With 27 years at Ellard, Mark has seen it all. His career began with pre-wiring SEM motors and building fire panels, before transitioning into technical support and training. Known for his approachable teaching style, he helps customers and installers feel confident with Ellard products.
Specialities: Customer support, training, problem solving.
Favourite product: Promax+ – “The digital display and programmer make reprogramming inputs and outputs straightforward.”
Biggest challenge solved: Helping to create a custom air lock system for the royal family, programming shutters to secure a safe room at the press of a panic button.
Favourite success story: His own progression—moving from production into technical support.
Most used troubleshooting tip: “I always ask, what happened to the shutter before it failed?”
Dave England – Senior Technical Engineer

With 25 years at Ellard, Dave has been part of the company’s evolution from production to engineering excellence. Starting with group control relays, he now leads bespoke product development and technical specifications tailored to customer needs.
Specialities: Product development, engineering, technical drawings, CAD.
Favourite product: “All of them—I enjoy the variety.”
Biggest challenge solved: Creating bespoke designs and technical specifications to meet unique customer requirements.
Background: Dave is a qualified electrical engineer and has spent his career shaping Ellard’s product offering.
Tom Rhodes – Technical Support Engineer

Tom has been with Ellard for just over a year and a half, bringing with him more than 10 years of hands-on engineering and installation experience. His first engineering role was building medical equipment on a production line, and since then, he’s built a passion for problem-solving and customer service.
Specialities: Training boards, customer support, blinds technical support.
Favourite product: Promax+ – “It’s easy and simple, with any problems highlighted clearly. I love showing customers how much more potential functionality the panel has to offer.”
Biggest challenge solved: Supporting international customers who call before being on-site, helping them prepare for potential challenges they might face outside UK working hours.
