A Smarter Way to Control Your Blinds: Introducing Ellard’s New Handsets

Ellard is taking the next step in smart blind control with a new generation of handsets, designed to give users greater control, clearer information and a more intuitive way to manage their motorised blinds.

As motorised blinds become an increasingly popular feature in modern homes and commercial spaces, expectations around how they are controlled are changing too.

Today's users want more than simply opening and closing a blind. They want convenient control, greater visibility and functionality that makes motorised blinds easier to live with every day.

Ellard’s latest handsets have been developed with this in mind, introducing several practical features designed to make every day blind control simpler and more informative.

Introducing the New Generation of Ellard Handsets

The new handsets bring a more intuitive approach to controlling motorised blinds, with options designed to suit both individual blinds and larger installations.

Available in single-channel and 15-channel versions, the range gives users the flexibility to control either an individual blind or multiple blinds from a single handset.

For a single-room installation, a single-channel handset provides straightforward control. For larger homes or installations featuring multiple motorised blinds, the 15-channel version allows users to manage multiple blinds or groups from one device.

This makes the handsets adaptable to a wide range of applications, while giving users a consistent way to control their motorised blinds.

More Information at Your Fingertips

One of the key developments is the ability to view motor battery level information directly from the handset.

For battery-powered motorised blinds, knowing the status of the motor can make maintenance more straightforward. Rather than waiting until a blind begins to indicate that its battery is running low, users can check its battery status through the handset and have greater visibility of when charging may be required.

It is a small yet powerful addition, and one that makes the day-to-day ownership of motorised blinds more intuitive.

Find Your Favourite Position at the Touch of a Button

The new handsets also introduce dedicated preset buttons for preferred blind positions.

Once a preferred position has been set, users can return the blind to that position at the touch of a button, rather than manually adjusting it each time.

Whether that means setting blinds to a particular position for watching television, reducing glare while working or finding the ideal balance of privacy and natural light, the preset function makes frequently used positions quick and easy to access.

Combined with multi-channel control and battery-level information, these features make the handset more than simply a device for sending an up or down command. It provides users with greater control and visibility over how their motorised blinds operate.

Designed for the Way People Use Their Blinds

The development of the new handsets reflects a broader shift in what users expect from motorised blind systems.

As smart-home technology becomes increasingly commonplace, products need to be intuitive enough to use every day while providing functionality that genuinely improves the user experience.

For motorised blinds, that means making everyday interactions simpler.

It's about taking the technology behind motorised blinds and making the experience of using it smarter.

Building the Future of Smart Home Technology

The launch of these new handsets is also part of a much wider focus for Ellard.

We are investing significantly in research and development across our smart-home offering, with a clear ambition to develop the next generation of products for connected and automated living.

The new handsets are an important step in that journey, but there is a lot more it come…

There are some major developments on the horizon as Ellard continues to expand its smart-home product offering.

We’re not ready to reveal everything just yet, but the direction is clear: we’re developing a growing range of products designed to make motorised blinds smarter, more connected and easier to use.
